Throughout the month fo January students will be instructed in ways to keep themselves safe, avoid situations of potential harm, and what to do should such a situation occur. Conversation Starters from this Month's Guidance Lessons ![]() Kindergarten:
How do you know when to be a Danger Ranger? What would a Problem Solver do if a friend on the playground doesn't want to play? First: How can you tell the difference between a Danger Ranger and a Tattle Tongue? Tell me about a time that you were a Problem Solver. Second: Tell me about two strategies you can use if you are being teased. Describe the difference between teasing and bullying. Third: Share about a time that you included your classmates in an activity this week. What is the best way to support a classmate who may be a target of bullying? Fourth: Why is "Power in Numbers" important as it pertains to bullying? Share about a time you could support or help someone who is being bullied. This interactive site allows students to learn helpful bully strategies through the use of games and fun activities. This site contains helpful books for parents and educators of children with various disorders. An often overlooked population, gifted children can struggle, too. This website offers wonderful articles and resources for parents. This site is a great resource for parenting tips and articles as well as behavior charts for home and school.
